30th Avenue Project

This Laval residence took several months to build, with design and execution handled in-house by our own consultants and designers, working closely with the client, Mr. Lizotte, on every material decision.

The project's real challenge: ceilings well above the standard 8 feet, reaching nearly 20 feet in places. Finding designs that used that height without making the rooms feel cold or overwhelming took some real thought — layered solid-wood ceilings, full-height shelving and storage, and stratified lighting to bring the scale back down to human size.

In the kitchen and pantry, the cabinet boxes are high-end polyethylene (PET), supplied by our partner AGT, with a wood-look veneer from Finsa, a European panel company — all distributed through Richelieu. Hardware and part of the material supply came from Rocheleau, a local manufacturer.

Counters, backsplashes and several vertical surfaces are in Silestone and Dekton, two of Cosentino's quartz and ultra-compact surface lines, chosen for how well they hold up in a house built for entertaining.

One detail repeats in almost every room: recessed lighting under the cabinet boxes — pantry shelves, kitchen island, built-in bar — that underlines the volumes without ever weighing them down.

Like most of our projects, this one brought together all three of our teams: Construction Altora for the build and coordination, Atelier Pelissier — based in the greater Montreal area — for the custom cabinetry, and Evos Boutiques for the fixtures and fittings. With our manufacturers local to Montreal and Laval, a project of this scale was delivered quickly and efficiently.
